This is a test of whether I am right about bridge hand placement or not. My theory is that a person can sight the CTE line and then put their bridge hand down so that the V-groove is to the right or left of the CTE Line with the cue tip pointing at the edge of the cue ball. Pivot to center cueball and you are lined up with the Ghost Ball. When I shot this video I was going off of two discoveries.

1. Two days ago while testing my overhead camera I was using the CueSight Training Ball to set up the CTE Line. Using it I learned that no matter how I put my bridge hand down and pivoted my hand was ALWAYS just to the right or left of the cte line.

2. While viewing Stan Shuffet’s ProOne video (Basic CTE and ProOne) Stan has a segment where he also indicates that the bridge hand V sits just to the right or left of the CTE Line.

So this coincidentally verified my discovery of a day prior. Today I tested it out for a bit on the table at the pool room and used my laptop’s camera to shoot this footage. I realize that it’s not great but it’s the best I could do with what I have to work with and with me being relatively clueless about which software is best to use to drive the webcam.

Anyway, the theory is that when you line up any shot using CTE that all you have to do is place the bridge hand so that the V is just slightly to the right or left – I THINK that if the cut is to the left then the bridge hand goes to the left of the CTE line and the opposite for cuts to the right.

I currently pivot in one direction so I haven’t put enough study into this yet. I plan to do it on my overhead cam to get a better picture of the action.

Anyway, this seems to be a fairly easy way to know where to place the bridge hand when using CTE and if so it clears up another mystery about using CTE.
